Teacher Attendance

Sign-In / Sign-Out Procedures:

Teachers are to sign in by 7:20 a.m. and sign out no earlier than 3:20 p.m.  Please note that the Main Office Staff assigns class coverage based upon teacher timecard sign-in.

Late Arrivals:

Sign in daily at least ten minutes before the beginning of school.  Make every effort to arrive on time (7:20 a.m.).  Late arrivals may result in loss of salary and/or disciplinary action.

Leaving School Grounds:

The office must know the whereabouts of each staff member during the entire school day.  Anyone who needs to leave the campus for any reason must have prior approval from the principal or the principalŐs designee and sign out in the Main Office.

Request for Partial – Day Absence / Coverage:

Request for partial day absence / coverage puts an additional burden on faculty members who have to cover classes.  To request coverage for a partial day teachers must fill out a Request For Class Coverage Form which is available in the Main Office.  The form must be submitted at least 24 hours before the absence.  It is the teacherŐs responsibility to ensure that the Main Office personnel receive the form.  Teachers should also verify that coverage was provided before leaving campus.

To report An Absence:

¤       Register with Sub-Finder.  (877) 528 – 7378

¤       You can call Sub-Finder to review, create and cancel absences and jobs, and to modify preference lists.

¤       When reporting an absence, always wait for the Job Number before disconnecting or the absence may not be recorded.

¤       The Job Number is your confirmation that Sub-Finder has accepted your absence.  You will also need this number if you need to cancel the absence.

¤       Call the Main Office to provide pertinent information concerning your absence, including the Job Number, no later than 7:00 a.m. the day of your absence.  The Main Office is open at 6:00 a.m.

¤       You can call the Sub-Finder to request a sub up to 6:30 a.m. the day of your absence.

¤       Upon returning to school it is the teacherŐs responsibility to complete a Certificate of Absence Form and return it to Mr. Janssen for administrative approval.

¤       If it is necessary for you to extend your absence, call the Main Office by 2:30 p.m.

Emergency Lesson Plans:

Lesson plans to cover an emergency absence are to be turned into the Main Office with all pertinent information including seating charts.  This could be a worksheet for Math, Science, History, or Foreign Language, or a short story for English with appropriate comprehension questions or exercises appropriate to the lesson.  It is important to have an updated Emergency Lesson Plan; therefore if the emergency lesson plan was used, please replace the plan within one week of your return.
