General Guideline

No clothing or accessories:

Not Allowed

Blouses / Shirts / Tops

All tops must adequately cover the chest area, back, shoulder, and naval.

Oversized tank tops may be worn but only with a T-shirt underneath.

Prohibited items may not be worn under a jacket, sweater, or sweatshirt.

Spaghetti straps.

Cleavage showing.

Strapless, off the shoulder halter tops, bare backs, bare midriffs, see-throughs, fishnet tops, undershirts.

 

Pants / Shorts / Overalls

 

Must fit in the waist without a belt with no underwear showing.

Must be hemmed.

No holes above the knees.  Shorts must cover the buttocks completely, while standing or sitting.

 

May not wear in a saggy, baggy way.

May not wear white socks up almost to the level of the shorts.

May not wear suspenders, bibs, or straps off the shoulder.

 

Skirts / Dresses

 

Must cover the posterior and undergarments while standing or sitting.

 

 

Shoes

 

Must be worn at all times

Flip flops must have a heel cup or strap to anchor the heel.

Shoelaces must be of normal size and color.

 

Flip flops with straight platforms.

 

Headgear

 

Bell hats only or plain purple, white, or gold caps

 

Visors, headbands, bandanas, hairnets.

 

Belts / Bracelets

 

No oversized belts hanging down.

No belts, bracelets, buckles or any other clothing with studs or spikes.

No belts or buckles with initials or numbers.

 

 

Piercing

 

Earrings may be worn only in the ears, eyebrows, or nose

 

No Piercing in the mouth area (tongue, lips, or chin).

 

Tattoos

 

Tattoos may not be visible.

 

 

Other Objects

 

Nothing that is a safety hazard to the wearer or others, including, but not limited to: whips, small lariats, spikes, or wallet chains.

 

 

 

Miscellaneous Objects

The following objects are not to be brought on campus: pagers, disc players, walkmans, or laser pointers.  Those items will be confiscated and held in the Deans Office until the end of the school day or until picked up by a parent or guardian.  Cell phones may be carried in school.  Phones must be off and out of sight from beginning bell to dismissal bell.  Cell phones may not be used during nutrition or lunch.  Cell phones heard or seen during school hours can be confiscated.

 

Consequences for Dress Code Violations

  1. Student must change into appropriate clothing if possible.
  2. Parents will be called to bring appropriate clothing or to give the student permission to go home for a change of clothing.
  3. If the student cannot change and the parents cannot be reached, the student will be required to remain in the referral room until the end of the day.
