School Wide Discipline Policy
I AIMS
That the Bell High School campus be a safe and pleasant environment for all its inhabitants
That the classrooms (and other places of instruction) be regarded as the most important spaces in the school and the least likely to be interrupted or disturbed.
That a high regard for learning be exhibited by all faculty and staff as a model for students and community members.
That school wide rules exhibit the following qualities:
That good behavior be rewarded consistently with worthwhile rewards.
That inappropriate behavior always entail an appropriate consequence.
That all members of the school community assume responsibility for the school wide discipline plan.
That school wide rules complement and support classroom rules.
That every classroom have a discipline plan in consonance with the school wide discipline plan.
II RULES (SCHOOLWIDE)

C. Uninterrupted classtime in classroom
1. Be in class on time
2. Hall pass and student I.D. required when out of classroom during classtime (no pass issued without student I.D.)

D. Pleasant environment
1. No graffiti
2. No littering
3. No vulgar language
E. Electronic Devices, as stated by Legislature in chapter 5 of the Education Code paragraphs E.C. 48901.5 and E.C. 51512, includes, but is not limited to: pagers (beepers); cellular phones; or electronic games. This law expressly prohibits electronic devices in the school without prior consent of the teacher and principal.
II.
POSITIVE CONSEQUENCES
The Student Leadership Class will take an active role in developing and implementing an effective system of positive consequences to reward appropriate student behavior. The reward system will be reviewed and modified periodically to ensure that rewards are effective and meaningful.
III.
HIERARCHY OF CONSEQUENCES
Students who do not follow the rules will be referred to the DeanÕs Office to be logged in. consequences for misbehavior may include (but are not limited to):
1. Warning, conference, and parent notification.
2. Parent notification and detention.
3. Parent conference, detention and campus beautification.
4. Parent conference and suspension.
5. Parent conference, program reevaluation, and opportunity transfer.
